Replacement Senators
When a vacancy arises, replacement senators are nominated by the Elections Commission through a competitive application process.
Each candidate must be:
- Enrolled in their constituency at the time of appointment.
- Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of courses on the Lawrence Campus or Edwards Campus of the University.
- Credit hour limitations do not apply to graduate students.
Enhancing Factors:
- An active member of Student Senate Councils or Advisory Boards.
- Involved in clubs and organizations at KU.
- Passionate about specific issues they want to address through Senate.
You may apply at any time. When a vacancy arises, qualified applicants will receive emails from the Elections Commission inviting them to an interview. Selected nominees must then be confirmed by the Students Assembly.
