Executive Platforms

Every year, Student Senate holds a General Election during the Spring Semester. During this election season, Student Body President/Vice President Tickets develop platforms and goals that they hope to accomplish for their Student Constituents through the Student Senate. These are promises that are made to the student body and they guide the work of each Student Senate Administration. Below you will find the platforms of the current administration:

Murga/Whalen Administration Platforms 2025-2026

- Collaborate with KU transportation to increase access

- Unused campus spaces for student parking

- Review grass field usage near campus core for potential parking expansion

- Consider returning to pre-COVID policy restricting freshmen to outer lots with shuttle service into campus

- Increasing undergraduate involvement in planning

- Increasing overall student body attendance in Homecoming events 

- Work towards the Student Body President and Student Body Vice President serving on alumni association Steering Committees and Student Engagement Subcommittee

 

- Focused on expanding student input ahead of fee review to better align funding with needs

- Address student concerns about stadium spending by clarifying that Student Senate does not direct those funds

- Discuss the future of SafeRide with KU Transportation 

- Actively participating in the Student Advisory Committee of university presidents

- Working to extend Kansas Free Applications Days, allowing students to apply to multiple state schools without cost for a limited time

- Continuing development of a digital hub in Canvas to centralize student resources funded by campus fees

- Designed to improve the student body's awareness and engagement with the services they cover under the semester campus fee
