Anne Cao

Anne Cao is a PhD candidate in the Department of Applied Behavioral Science studying the intersection of behavioral economics and decision-making. She explores how we navigate choices involving uncertainty, delays, and competing incentives. By working with humans, rats, and pigeons, Anne uses a comparative approach to uncover which aspects of decision-making are universal and which are distinctly human.

On the advisory board, Anne is a passionate advocate for the international graduate student experience. Having navigated the cultural and practical realities of studying far from home, she works to strengthen support systems around visas, funding, and advising relationships so that international students can fully engage and succeed in their programs.

In her free time, Anne enjoys traveling, gaming, and spending time with her two cats.
