Rules & Regulations

The Student Senate Rules and Regulations (SSRR) is the document that dictates all procedures for the University of Kansas Student Senate. SSRR is published in hard copy at the start of each year, but the document itself is amended throughout the Senate cycles.

Any proposed amendments to SSRR must pass by a two-thirds (2/3) vote through the Student Rights Committee and one of the three other standing committees. If successful in committees, the proposed amendments must then receive a two-thirds (2/3) vote from the full Senate body.

The Student Body President has the power to veto any amendments within 10 days of the bill passing full Senate.

Recently, Student Senate voted to approve a new format of SSRR. The new format, which did not change or remove any content, shortened SSRR significantly. You can find this new version below.
